Elephant Killed Woman Then Went To Her Funeral And Trampled On Her Corpse

The body of a 70-year-old woman who was stomped to death by an elephant was afterward stampeded by the same wild animal. On Thursday morning, Maya Murmu was out fetching water in Raipal village, Eastern India, when an escaped elephant appeared out of nowhere and trampled her.

Maya Murmu was crushed by an escaped elephant while fetching water in Raipal village, Eastern India, on Thursday, according to authorities.

She died in hospital from her injuries, and her body was burned on a funeral pyre later that evening.
